Well after some floundering, I fished around and landed this

I've owned one before, and liked the 2 channels (2nd channel designed for double bass, etc). They're small, but very heavy. But surprisingly loud.

Better get my Skate(s) on and go reel it in.

I was a bit intrigued to see one of these for sale for £250 s/h earlier today seems to have a similarly comprehensive tone shaping to your Carlsbro.
