Sold

Riiiiighhht.....this is it....THE final decision to go back to fretless for evah! :D
So, for sale if you want a very nice jap P. It's got lots of dings and stuff, but I like the road worn look.
£500 in a newish HSC, meet up within 60 mins from Bristol/Bath area. Or £25 extra to post next day.
Happy to trade for an unlined fretless P or J of an equivalent value.

Siily question, but why don't you defret this one? Or, there is that one place that makes great replacement necks for Fndrs. You could get a fretless neck and then have one of each. :)

This looks like a great bass. Is it 1.75" at the nut?

Not a silly question at all Tom. I had thought of offering a trade option of a neck swap.
I want an unlined board, it's my preference to lines, otherwise I'd get it defretted as you suggest.

Thanks for the link, I hadn't appreciated how much a replacement unlined neck would be. That's very reasonable for a mighty mite. I guess there's duty/VAT to pay too?
I'll measure the nut tomorrow.

Cheers,

John

Looks like £126 delivered, VAT, handling, duty paid...that's better than I'd expected.

You could also get a luthier to replace the fingerboard with an unlined one.

Again, not thought of that. Been looking at where to source unlined boards. Thanks :)
