I have been enjoying this immensely, especially as I am a part-time detectorist myself :)

Knew I'd forgotten something - great cast.

Insert self-aggrandising list of expensive equipment here.

"Don't mistake me for a musician, I'm just someone who likes music and screws around with some stringy things and some boxes to make some sounds."

Also known as "The Scary One". Boo.

Hard to imagine how it could be any better, innit. Lovely subtle writing, great performances. Classy stuff.

Yes, we've enjoyed this - hit series record when it started, then didn't start watching til episode 4 had aired - soon caught up, and now it's all over.

A lovely affectionate look at the British male in his natural habitat (geeky hobbies and awkwardness) - and a nice celebration of the Essex outdoors.
It's a bugger getting inside the horn when you've got the array supports in place, isn't it!

Well put, Richard. Mind you, any kind of sex outdoors is good for me. :)

Presumably Wessex isn't plural, or a reference to certain "specialist" web sites....is it?

Btw I have really enjoyed Detectorists, thanks for the recommendation here.

...a fact that, alas, never seems to deter Russell Brand.
